For over 10 years School Savvy has been proving that it takes a village to get every child back to school with dignity and pride.
The School Savvy Hub provides early intervention and family support services to help children and young people remain engaged in education and connected to their community. Working alongside students, parents, carers and schools, the program helps families navigate challenges that may impact school attendance, participation and wellbeing.
Support is tailored to the needs of each family and may include advocacy, practical assistance, referrals and connections to a range of community and family support services. The School Savvy Hub takes a strengths-based approach, helping families build confidence, access support and achieve positive outcomes.
The program accepts self-referrals, referrals from schools and referrals from community service providers
The Queensland Government has supported the School Savvy initiative to deliver family intensive support services through the School Savvy Hub.
Give pre-loved uniforms, school supplies, or laptops – or make a financial contribution.
Every $150 helps one child step into school proud, prepared, and ready to learn.
Every village has its generous givers — and your donations help carry the load for families across Far North Queensland. Right now, we’re seeking:
Donations are welcomed from Cairns and surrounding areas including Atherton, Tully, Mareeba, Mossman, Babinda, and Innisfail. Donations stay within an area that they’re donated to.
Together, these contributions become more than supplies — they become confidence, dignity, and opportunity for local children.
