Engagement & Support is Centacare FNQ’s community-focused division, delivering person-centred support, settlement, community development, disaster resilience, and wellbeing initiatives that empower individuals, families, and communities to connect, belong, and thrive across Far North Queensland.
The Manoora Neighbourhood Centre, managed by Centacare FNQ since 2023 and funded by the Queensland Government, is a welcoming community space for people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.
Meaningful employment creates opportunities for individuals, families and communities to thrive. At Centacare FNQ, we work alongside migrant communities to build pathways to employment, education and long-term economic participation through our award-winning Employment & Training programs.
Centacare FNQ’s Settlement Services provide strengths-based, person-centred support to humanitarian entrants, migrants, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals and families as they establish their lives in Far North Queensland. Working alongside clients, our team helps identify goals, build on existing strengths, and navigate pathways to independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
School Savvy remains our community’s village response, ensuring back-to-school costs are never a barrier to education. With affordable uniforms, supplies, and even free haircuts, thousands of children walk into the classroom each year feeling equal, included, and ready to learn.
Centacare FNQ supports individuals, families, businesses, and communities to strengthen their disaster preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. Through a range of resilience-building initiatives, including Person-Centred Emergency Planning, Business Continuity Planning, and Social Service Capacity Building, we work alongside communities to enhance preparedness for future disaster events.
